Everything We Have Been Building Toward — A Summary, a Framework, and an Invitation to Go Deeper

Based on Colossians 1:27-28 — “Christ in you, the hope of glory. He is the one we proclaim, admonishing and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone fully mature in Christ.”

Something has been happening in these pages.

If you have been reading from the beginning — from the article about a crying 14-year-old on a farm in the Philippines to the final word about hunger and the inexhaustible God who satisfies it — you may have sensed it building. Not just a collection of blog posts about faith and life and God. Something more integrated than that. More intentional. More connected.

A framework. A way of life. A complete, Spirit-led, inside-out way for becoming the person God designed you to be and living the life He designed you to live.

That is what Lifechoicely is. And before we go further — before the next series of articles takes us deeper into the truths we have only begun to explore — I want to pause and name what we have been building together. Not just for those of you who have read every word, but for those of you who are just arriving and need a map of the territory before you begin the journey.

It Began With a Question.

Actually, it began with a cry. A boy on a farm who didn’t know why he was crying but who couldn’t stop asking, in the silence of that hot afternoon: What is the point? What is this for? Is there more?

Those questions — What is the purpose of life? What am I here for? Is there something more than what I can see? — are not signs of weakness or spiritual crisis. They are the most important questions a human being can ask. They are the sound of a soul that was designed for something specific and is beginning to sense the distance between what it was designed for and what it is currently experiencing.

Every article in this series has been, at its root, an attempt to answer those questions. Not abstractly. Not theologically from a safe distance. From the inside of a life that has been testing the answers in the real world — in Philippine living rooms and Japanese mission fields and Michigan caregiving seasons and home fellowship gatherings and Lk10 community meetings — for decades.

The Central Conviction: You Were Made for More.

The foundational conviction of everything Lifechoicely offers is this:

You were not made for a managed, safe, religiously respectable version of existence. You were made for the full, abundant, extravagantly alive life that Jesus came to give — a life that is genuinely transformed from the inside out, genuinely connected to the God who invented you, genuinely expressed through the specific, irreplaceable, God-designed person you actually are.

This is not self-help language dressed in Christian clothing. It is the most ancient and most radical claim of the gospel — that God, through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and the indwelling presence of the Holy Spirit, has made genuinely available to every ordinary believer the genuinely extraordinary life of the age to come, lived right now, in the middle of the present age, from the inside out.

Paul calls it “Christ in you, the hope of glory.” Not Christ beside you. Not Christ above you. Christ in you — the living, active, transforming presence of the Son of God taking up permanent residence in the interior of your life and becoming the source from which everything genuinely good, genuinely fruitful, and genuinely lasting flows.

That is the vision. That is the hope. That is what Lifechoicely exists to help you receive and live.

The Framework: The Inside-Out Life.

Across thirty-six articles, we have been building a framework — a complete, integrated, daily system for living the inside-out life. Let me lay it out clearly, perhaps for the first time in a single place.

The Lifechoicely framework rests on five foundational convictions and five corresponding practices. They are not a ladder to climb — they are a root system to grow. They work together, feed each other, and deepen together over time.

Foundational Conviction One: Identity Before Activity.

Before you can genuinely do anything for God, you need to receive who God has already declared you to be.

You are not working toward acceptance — you are already accepted. You are not earning sonship — you are already adopted. You are not becoming a new creation — you already are one. In Christ, before you did anything to deserve it and before any circumstance can take it away, you are chosen, beloved, called, equipped, and permanently loved.

This is not a feeling. It is a declaration. And it must be received — daily, deliberately, specifically — before it becomes the actual operating foundation of your life rather than a theological category you agree with in principle.

The corresponding practice is the daily identity anchor — the morning declaration of who you are in Christ, spoken into the new day before the old patterns, the world’s noise, and the enemy’s accusations have a chance to tell you something false.

Bob Hamp writes, “The thought system is not changed by occasional dramatic encounters alone. It is changed by the consistent, daily, repeated input of truth into the places where false beliefs currently operate” (Think Differently, Live Differently, p. 349, Bob Hamp).

Foundational Conviction Two: Encounter Before Performance.

The Christian life is not primarily a set of behaviors to maintain. It is a relationship to inhabit — a genuine, two-way, continuously deepening communion with the living God who is always already present, always already speaking, always already moving in your specific daily circumstances.

You cannot perform your way into genuine transformation. You can only receive it — through consistent, expectant, encounter-oriented engagement with the God who is more committed to your formation than you are.

The corresponding practice is the daily encounter rhythm — the morning Scripture encounter that asks not “what can I learn?” but “what are You saying to me today?”, the conversational prayer that leaves space for listening, the midday pause that asks “am I still in step?”, and the evening review that asks “where did I sense You moving today?”

Graham Cooke writes, “Daily rhythm is simply the structure that keeps you turning in the right direction often enough that encounter becomes your norm rather than your exception” (Being with God, p. 127, Graham Cooke).

Foundational Conviction Three: Formation Before Fruitfulness.

You cannot sustainably give what you have not genuinely received. You cannot transmit a life you have not genuinely been living. The sequence matters — always, without exception, in every season and every calling.

Formation comes first. The inside work precedes the outside work. The hidden season of root-building precedes the visible season of fruit-bearing. And the suffering, the slow growth, the unglamorous seasons of invisible formation — these are not detours from God’s purposes. They are frequently the most direct route.

The corresponding practice is intentional formation investment — the deliberate, Spirit-led, community-supported commitment to allowing God to do His deep interior work in you, in whatever season and through whatever instrument He chooses, before you rush to the next level of visible ministry or external fruitfulness.

Frank Viola writes, “God is not primarily interested in what you produce. He is interested in what He can build in you — because what He builds in you is the only thing through which He can genuinely produce anything that lasts” (Reimagining Church, p. 87, Frank Viola).

 

Foundational Conviction Four: Community Before Mission.

You were not designed to do this alone. The inside-out life is not a solo project. Genuine transformation, genuine formation, and genuine mission all happen most powerfully in the context of genuine community — the specific, intimate, mutually accountable, Acts 2:42-devoted family of Jesus that the New Testament describes and that every genuine expression of the kingdom has embodied.

This community is not a program you attend. It is a family you inhabit — a small, real, proximate group of people with whom the message of Christ dwells richly in the texture of shared daily life.

The corresponding practice is the consistent community commitment — the specific, named, consistently invested relationships in which you are genuinely known, genuinely loved, genuinely called out, and genuinely sent together into the mission God has prepared.

John Eldredge writes, “The New Testament knows nothing of a solitary faith. You were not made to do this alone” (Fathered by God, p. 176, John Eldredge).

 

Foundational Conviction Five: Sending Before Arriving.

You are already a sent person. Not when you have arrived at sufficient spiritual maturity. Not when the formation is complete. Not when the circumstances are favorable, and the calling is clear, and the resources are assembled, and the risk feels manageable.

Now. As you are. Into the specific neighborhood, workplace, family, and daily life you currently occupy. With the specific story, specific wounds, specific gifts, and specific hunger for more that only you carry in exactly the way you carry it.

The corresponding practice is the sent-person awareness — the daily, intentional, Spirit-led orientation toward the people around you as potential people of peace, the prayerful question “God, who are You already working in today and how can I join what You’re doing?”, and the willingness to be fully, genuinely, unhurriedly present to the people God places in your path.

John Eldredge writes, “Every encounter is potentially significant, every person potentially a divine appointment, every conversation potentially the moment when God’s kingdom comes near to someone who has been waiting for it without knowing what they were waiting for” (Walking with God, p. 112, John Eldredge).

 

The Main Goal: Transformation Into the Image of Christ.

Every conviction. Every practice. Every article. Every tool, journal, template, tracker, and guide that Lifechoicely offers — all of it points toward a single, non-negotiable, gloriously demanding goal.

That you would be transformed into the image of Christ.

Not improved. Not refined. Not made more religiously productive or spiritually impressive. Transformed — metamorphoo, the metamorphosis word — from the inside out, from the ground up, from the deepest interior of who you are to the most visible expression of how you live, into the specific, irreplaceable, God-designed version of yourself that most fully reflects the character of the Christ who lives in you.

Paul says it in Romans 8:29 — “For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son.” Conformed to the image of His Son. That is the destination. That is the divine intention behind every season of formation, every chapter of suffering, every encounter with Scripture, every genuine community gathering, every small act of daily orientation toward God.

You becoming genuinely, progressively, increasingly like Jesus — not as a performance you maintain but as a nature you inhabit, not as a standard you strain toward but as a life you receive, from the inside out, one surrendered day at a time.

 

The Connection to Purpose and Meaning.

Here is the answer to the question that the 14-year-old on the farm was asking — and that you may have been asking, in your own way, for years.

What is the point? What is this for? What am I here for?

The answer, in its fullest and most complete form, is this:

You are here to be transformed into the image of Christ — and to carry that transformation, in the specific form that only your life can carry it, into the specific corner of the world that only you occupy, for the benefit of the specific people that only your story has equipped you to reach.

That is the purpose of life. Not success. Not accumulation. Not even happiness, in the shallow sense of that word. But the deep, increasingly complete, eternally significant transformation of a human being into the image of the God who made them — expressed outward in love, in mission, in community, in the daily, ordinary, Spirit-led choices of a life genuinely lived from the inside out.

Viktor Frankl said that meaning is found not in pleasure or power but in purpose — the specific, irreplaceable, non-transferable contribution that only you can make to the world. The Lifechoicely framework agrees — and goes further. Because the purpose it points toward is not self-generated. It is God-given. It is written into the fabric of who you were designed to be, confirmed by the Spirit who lives in you, and being progressively revealed as you follow the hunger that God Himself placed in you.

Your life has a purpose. It is specific. It is significant. And it is being uncovered — from the inside out — by a God who is always already ahead of you in it.

 

What Is Coming Next.

The thirty-six articles you have just read — or that you are being introduced to for the first time — were a foundation. A comprehensive, personal, theologically grounded, story-carried introduction to the Lifechoicely framework and the inside-out life it describes.

What is coming next goes deeper.

We are going to go deeper into the nature of God — who He actually is, beyond the theological categories, in the living, personal, encountered reality of His specific character and His specific love for specific people.

We are going to go deeper into the transformation process — the specific, practical, Spirit-led mechanics of how genuine change happens in the interior of a human life, and how you can cooperate with that process more intentionally and more fruitfully.

We are going to go deeper into the community life — what genuine, New Testament, every-member-functioning, Christ-headed community looks like when it is actually working, and how to build it in the specific context of your specific daily life.

We are going to go deeper into mission — the Lk10 vision of vibrant families of Jesus within reach of everyone, and what it looks like to live as a genuinely sent person in the ordinary, daily, non-dramatic reality of wherever God has placed you.

And we are going to go deeper into the Scripture — passage by passage, story by story, truth by truth — letting the living Word of the living God speak into the specific, daily, real-world challenges and opportunities of the inside-out life.

Each article will continue to be grounded in Scripture, carried by personal story, informed by the teachings of Bob Hamp, Frank Viola, Graham Cooke, and John Eldredge, and oriented toward the single, non-negotiable goal of everything Lifechoicely offers:

That you would be transformed into the image of Christ. Fully. Genuinely. From the inside out. For the rest of your life.

 

What Lifechoicely Offers You.

If you are seriously following the Lifechoicely framework — reading the articles, using the tools, engaging with the community, applying the daily practices — here is what you can expect.

You will begin to know who you are in Christ — not as a doctrine you affirm but as a reality you inhabit. The performance anxiety, the identity confusion, the sense that you are perpetually behind or not enough — these will lose their grip as the truth of your new creation identity takes deeper and deeper root.

You will develop a genuine, two-way, conversational relationship with God — not a duty-driven devotional routine but a living, daily, encounter-oriented communion with a God who is genuinely, personally, specifically interested in you.

You will be formed — slowly, consistently, from the inside out — into a person whose character, whose responses, whose love for people, and whose capacity for genuine fruitfulness are qualitatively different from what self-generated religious effort could ever produce.

You will find genuine community — or build it — the specific, intimate, Acts 2:42-devoted family of Jesus that you were designed to belong to and that you cannot be fully formed without.

You will live with intention — a daily life whose calendar, relationships, habits, and decisions consistently reflect your deepest convictions about who you are and what you are here for.

You will discover your specific calling — and begin to live from it, not as a pressure but as an identity, not as a performance but as the natural overflow of a life that is genuinely, increasingly, beautifully aligned with the purpose God designed you for.

And you will be sent — into your neighborhood, your workplace, your family, your daily life — as a genuinely present, genuinely loving, genuinely kingdom-carrying person whose quality of being speaks of something real before your words say anything at all.

This is not a promise of a comfortable life. It is the promise of a full one.

The promise that Jesus made in John 10:10 — life, and life to the full — is the promise that the Lifechoicely framework exists to help you receive. Not to manufacture it. Not to achieve it. To receive it — daily, genuinely, from the inside out, from the God who is always already more than anything you have yet discovered about Him.

One Last Thing.

You are not here by accident.

The God who is always already ahead of you was already in this article before you arrived. He was already working in the hunger that brought you here. Stay. Go deeper. Keep saying — in the privacy of your own heart, in the gatherings of your community, in the honest, forward-leaning prayer of a person who has tasted enough to know there is more:

I wanna know more.

That hunger is not a problem. It is a prophecy.
