Our Story
Lifechoicely, was born out of a deep desire to help others navigate the complexities of life and relationships—a passion for helping people build strong, healthy relationships that will last a lifetime. As we know all too well, building strong, healthy relationships is not always easy. There are moments of joy and affection, but there are also times of disagreement, disappointment, and pain.
It was on August 14, 2011, in a small town in the Philippines, that our story began. That was the day we (Lois and Ed) were married, and it marked the start of an exciting journey together. We met while she was serving as a missionary in Japan. At the time, I was running a small grocery store in the Philippines while also serving as one of the leaders of my local church. After we married, I joined Lois in her mission work of leading a small church in Japan for five years.
In 2017, we were called to return to Lois’ hometown in Michigan, where her elderly father was suffering from Parkinson’s disease. We were able to spend quality time with him before he passed away peacefully in February 2022, surrounded by his family.
Throughout our journey together, Jesus Christ has been our foundation—the true source of our joy and contentment in life. It was through our relationship with Him that we were able to build a strong, loving relationship with each other. It was through following Him together that we gained a deeper understanding of love and relationships in general–including the importance of a strong marriage foundation.
Our experiences have taught us that life is full of questions—sometimes difficult questions— and that relationships play a crucial role in finding purpose and meaning in life.
It was the merging of all these themes in our life: Jesus, purpose, relationship, love, and marriage, that inspired us to create Lifechoicely. The Weddings by Lifechoicely website is one part of the Lifechoicely vision. Its purpose is to offer useful, experience-based advice and resources that will help our readers not only plan their ideal wedding but also build a strong relational foundation for a lifetime of love and commitment.
Besides Lois and Ed, the Lifechoicely team also includes Regine, who wrote most of the weddings articles and provided administrative support. Our technical support comes from AF Tech – IT Solutions. It is all of us working together with some advisers that has made the whole Lifechoicely project possible. We hope that our story and the resources we offer will help you build strong, healthy relationships that will bring joy and meaning to your life.
